Christina Knudson

Violinist Christina Knudson actively teaches and performs throughout the Bay Area. Ms. Knudson recently won a position in the Stockton Symphony. She has also performed with Bay Area’s Berkeley Community Chorus and Orchestra as Concertmaster and Principal Second, Merced Symphony as Assistant Principal Second, and frequently performs with Berkeley Symphony and Monterey Symphony. In addition to performing with these orchestras, Ms. Knudson has participated in the National Repertory Orchestra in Colorado, the National Orchestral Institute in Maryland and the Hot Springs Festival in Arkansas. During her stay in Hot Springs, Ms. Knudson appeared as soloist with the Hot Springs Festival Orchestra for a masterclass with Janet Sung.

Ms. Knudson has been teaching for the Northern California Music and Culture Center (NCMACC) since moving to San Francisco in 2008. Ms. Knudson also maintains a private violin studio outside of her studio at NCMACC. In 2012, she has joined the faculty of the Napa Valley Youth Orchestra as co-director and conductor of Sinfonia.

Ms. Knudson received her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from California State University, Long Beach, where she graduated magna cum laude. She graduated with a Master of Music and Professional Studies Diploma at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as a scholarship student of Bettina Mussumeli. She has previously studied with Phillip Levy, Bing Wang, Mateja Marinkovic and Catherine Van Hoesen. In her spare time, Ms. Knudson enjoys running and climbing mountains. She recently completed her third half marathon and hopes to one day run a full marathon.
